Genetics

Virginia Tech offers comprehensive M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Animal and Poultry Breeding and Genetics. Course work and research opportunities are available in theoretical, traditional, applied and futuristic aspects of genomics, molecular and quantitative genetics. Breeding, genomics, and improvement research programs are available in beef cattle, poultry, sheep, swine, and horses. Ph.D. research in genetics may also be taken through the Interdepartmental Genetics Program for students desiring greater focus on the discipline of genetics.
