Reproductive and Neural Physiology

Our program emphasizes the acquisition of fundamental knowledge about reproductive physiology and application of that knowledge to livestock production. Students use biochemical procedures, diagnostic ultrasound, surgical manipulations, tissue culture and molecular biology techniques to test specific hypotheses about the physiology of livestock and poultry. Course work includes advanced classes in physiology, biochemistry, endocrinology, various other biological sciences and statistics. Programs of study are tailored to meet the background and career goals of individual students. We emphasize effective academic instruction and provide the opportunity and assistance for students to become effective teachers. Our students develop the laboratory, animal, statistical and communications skills needed to become a productive member of the scientific community.
