Animal and Poultry Sciences Major

The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences offers three options: Production/Business,  Science or Pre-Vet.  Within each option, a student can select an emphasis in either Livestock, Poultry or Equine.  The requirements for each emphasis can be found by clicking on the expected year of graduation of the desired emphasis below:

RESTRICTED ELECTIVE CONTRACTS
Students must complete a restricted elective contract and get the approval of their assigned academic advisor.  These contracts allow students to develop an individual curriculum which meets the career goals of the student.  The three different options are
Production/Business, Science, or Pre-VetTo see a listing of required courses and restricted elective courses chosen frequently by Animal and Poultry Sciences Majors, see the Facts about the Required and Restricted Electives for 2011.   Note that these are not  the only courses which can be used as restricted electives.  You can see the Area 2 and Area 6 requirements listed on the checksheets by clicking on Curriculum for Liberal Education Guide (PDF) and Area 7 courses here: Applicable Area 7 Courses You can also check out the course descriptions in the Undergraduate Catalog, then click on College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and then Animal and Poultry Sciences.  For current students using the curriculum plan can help you to create an academic plan.
