Education:
Dr. Geor's main function is training graduate
students in research on horses relating to nutrition and exercise performance
and to pasture systems for mares and foals -- the use of horses for recreation
and procreation. The two main facilities are the Middleburg Agricultural
Research and Extension Center,
a 420-acre pasture farm that includes a Treadmill Laboratory, and the Equine
Nutrition Laboratory in the Litton-Reaves Building in Blacksburg.
Graduate students have been supported by the Department as teaching assistants,
the John Lee Pratt Program in Animal Nutrition, and the WALTHAM
Centre for Equine Nutrition and Care.
