Major, Minors: Animal & Poultry Sciences Major, Dairy Science Major (Secondary)

Background: I was raised on a Angus/Hereford cross-breeding operation spending most of my time with my dad on the tractor and eventually taking on my own herd of cattle and showing in 4-H and FFA as well as competing in stockman's and speaking contests.

Activities: Block N Bridle, Dairy Club, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, 2006-2007 Central area Vice President - VA FFA, 4-H Club volunteer and allstar, Undergraduate TA for Intro to APSC, Stockman's and 4-H Camp counselor.

Interests: Working with livestock, spending time with my family, helping youth in 4-H and FFA, showing my one-year-old sister (and future Hokie) all about agriculture, four-wheeling, hunting.

Future Plans: After receiving my Bachelor's Degree in 2010, I plan to attend the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine to obtain my PhD as a food animal veterinarian specializing in dairy and beef cattle. I would also like to start my own practice in my hometown, giving back to the 4-H and FFA programs that have helped me get to the place I'm at today.
