3rd Annual Equine Nutrition and Health Seminar, Friday, October 19, 2007

Horse owners and equine enthusiasts are invited to attend an educational seminar on Managing Healthy Growth and Development in Young Horses on Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Middleburg Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Middleburg, VA (MARE Center, Fauquier County).  Registration will begin at 8:30 am, with the program running from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and including lunch.  The event is coordinated by Virginia Cooperative Extension and the MARE Center and is supported by donations from the Virginia Horse Industry Board and Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition.

This program is being offered to anyone with an interest in horse breeding management or horse growth and includes a selection of topics relevant to the horse owner or breeder.  Invited speakers from Pennsylvania State University and Virginia Intermont will join representatives of Virginia Tech and Virginia Cooperative Extension in discussing appropriate feeding and exercise of young horses, as well as methods of monitoring growth and development.
