About Her And What She Does:

Wanda began working in the Animal & Poultry Sciences Department in May 1984 as a temporary secretary, and accepted a permanent position in October 1984. She now serves as Student Services Specialist/Office Manager/Coordinator of the Central Advising Office, which serves more than 400 undergraduate students, faculty and staff. She also acts as administrative assistant to the APSC Coordinating Counselor and works with two other Career Advisors and 16 additional faculty who serve as Academic Advisors. Wanda also acts as liaison to the Academic Dean and other Administrative Offices related to Academics. In September, 2004, she received the Provost's Award for Excellence in Advising which is given annually to recognize an individual who serves undergraduate advisees in exemplary ways.

Wanda attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky with a major in German and a minor in Math. She is married to Duayne Grubb who is a self-employed building contractor T/A Grubb Construction Company in Floyd, VA. They have two sons, Kevin and Darian. Kevin and his dad run the building construction business for custom homes and remodeling as well as a cabinet shop. Kevin and his wife, Monica, have two children, Kearsten and Collin. Darian completed his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from VT in May 1998. He and his wife, Yolanda, live in Mooresville, NC. He is currently employed with Hendricks Motorsports as Lead Engineer for all the Hendricks Nascar teams of drivers Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordan, Brian Vickers, and Kyle Busch in Concord, NC.
